Visit the castle, then stroll through the vast park adorned with its autumn colours!
Discover the former residence of the Schneiders, masters of the Creusot forges, and learn about the town's industrial epic. After an intensive visit, take a moment to stroll around the park surrounding the château.
The Chateau de la verrerie is actually former crystal and glass manufactory founded in 1786. After the closure of the factory in 1832, the Schneiders, owners of the local steel factories, bought it in 1837 with the intention of making their home inside the building. They transformed it to create a real castle. Nowadays, the castle is open to the public with three different visits: the Men and Industry Museum, the Industry Pavilion and the small theatre.

Spring school holidays (from 05/04/2025 to 04/05/2025) and autumn school holidays (from 18/10/2025 to 02/11/2025): open from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 6pm. Closed on Tuesdays. Closed on 01/05/2025 and 01/11/2025.
In July and August, open every day from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 6.30pm.
